Cast & Crew

Chris Keller (Writer/Director)

Chris is a filmmaker and Visual Effects supervisor with VFX credits including mega productions such as Pacific Rim Uprising, Assassin’s Creed, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Man of Steel, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

He has written and directed several award-winning short films. In 2012, he won the “Million Hits Viral Competition” with a spec commercial. A year later, his short film “Valse” garnered numerous awards, most notably Grand Prize at the 2013 Movie Machine Digital Cinema Festival. His short “Life External” won 3rd prize (out of 217 submissions) at the renowned Sci-Fi London 48hr Film Challenge 2014. In 2015, he released horror short “20 Hz” which has been praised for its atmosphere and assured direction. Last year, he published a series of viral videos showing a giant sea monster in the river Thames that received dozens of millions of views and generated a massive hype in the UK’s capital.

Chris’ new horror short “Father” has recently been completed and will be making appearances in festivals all over the world.

Furthermore, Chris is in post production with another short (a live action / animation hybrid), and is co-writing feature scripts to direct in the future.

Oliver Milburn (Producer)

Oliver has been a director, documentary cameraman, cinematographer, 1st AD, a visual effects artist and editor, all at a broadcast or cinema level. He loves making films, basically, and all of this experience is brought to bear when producing.

Oliver’s first feature film as writer/director, The Harsh Light of Day, was produced when he was 23. This micro-budget indie horror was his university grad project, and went on to secure a limited theatrical and DVD release in the UK, and DVD/VOD releases in the US and China.

Since then he has written several feature length scripts including a collaboration with video games behemoth Rebellion, directed and produced a number of award-winning shorts, commercials and music videos, and worked across a broad range of capacities on major British TV series. He continues to collaborate with director Chris Keller.

Ed Moore (Cinematographer)

Ed is an extremely adept DP in high demand for his combination of beautiful results with a focussed, story-led approach. His work has taken him across Europe and worldwide.

Ed’s main unit credits include SHETLAND (ITV), VERA (ITV), RED DWARF (UKTV),  DRIFTERS (E4), THE ART OF FOLEY (C4), OVER TO BILL (BBC1), COMMON GROUND (Sky) and several C4 COMEDY BLAPS.

As second unit DP, Ed has shot DOCTOR WHO, UNCLE, POLDARK, ATLANTIS (shooting on 35mm), MAPP & LUCIA, CUCUMBER and more. In 2013 Ed was the last DP to ever shoot Judi Dench as “M” in a glossy promotion for PHILOMENA.

Ed’s recent short film BREAK for director Nick Moss, starring John Hurt and Kika Markham, has won Best Film at the Discover and the Manchester Film Festivals.

In 2013 Ed shot his second feature THE LAST SHOWING for director Phil Hawkins, starring Robert Englund, which was released in the UK by Sony Pictures with rave reviews for the cinematography. Also with Hawkins, the spec trailer BAPTISM (shot in just three days) has resulted in a US feature development deal.

In commercials Ed has worked extensively in fashion, food and vehicles. Clients include McDONALDS, BIRDS EYE, NATIONAL EXPRESS,  JD WILLIAMS, CARERS TRUST and MARS. He also occasionally works as cover for legendary aerial DP Jeremy Braben, with operating credits including MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE and SENSE8, along with many flights for commercials using both full size and remote helicopters.

Ed was chosen as one of Broadcast Magazine’s rising talents in their 2013 “Hot Shots” piece, and featured as a “New Wave” DP in British Cinematographer magazine in the same year. His commercial for the Carers Trust with Little Fish Films was voted one of the top 50 ads of their year by the Advertising Producer’s Association in 2014. Ed is in demand as a speaker and educator and has given cinematography instruction at British Society of Cinematography seminars.

Richard Syms (Hugo)

Richard is an actor of great breadth and experience. His work in British TV ranges from the recent heavyweight Taboo to classics like Midsomer Murders.

In film he has worked with greats such as Anthony Minghella (Truly Madly Deeply), Mike Leigh (Secrets and Lies) and Martin Scorsese (Gangs of New York).

He brings his wealth of experience to The Last Dance, relishing the opportunity for a senior role to take the lead.

Sharea Samuels (Sophie)

Sharea made her debut in the British feature film “Bullet Boy” in 2004. Other films include “The Intent”, “Betsy & Leonard”, and soon to be released, “Gangsters Gamblers & Geezers”.

Sharea has also been a part of many short films including Aml Ameen’s short film “12”, as well as Sebastian Thiel’s collection of shorts including “Friday UK” & “Illegal Activity”. She has also worked with esteemed actors such as Roger Guenevera Smith (American Gangster) as lead actress in Jamaican short film “Missed’.

Sharea has worked on numerous commercials, including Kellogs Special K, Adidas, BBC I Player, as well as working on projects abroad including an overseas project in Dubai 2016 to perform for the Royal Family, “Mother of A Nation 2016”, and behind the scenes as 1st Assistant Director on Jamaican hit feature film “Better Mus Come”, directed by Storm Saulter.

All of the above, plus plenty of experience in filming for the corporate world including companies such as EDF, Jeep and Barclays Bank makes Sharea a well-versed actress in all fields of filming and photography work.

Nigel Thomas (Young Hugo)

A hard working, talented professional and friendly actor and musician (professional singing qualifications) based in London.

Nigel has most recently performed as ‘Frank’ in the new feature film thriller “Candlestick”, which has its US premiere this April in Los Angeles.
